Abstract: |Onyx is an object oriented language for developing distributed applications running above the Nexus operating system. Onyx provides language constructs for defining abstract data types that use multiple inheritance to promote code reusability. Also, Onyx supports a novel environment for program development. It allows a distributed type or program to be developed in a purely local environment of one machine. Only after it has been completely tested locally is it installed in the global network as a distributed entity. This significantly reduces the time that it takes to implement a distributed system.|
